Recycle? New Cycle? Outfits 3 and 4

Hi guys, really sorry for the delay in posting the the outfits from Friday and Saturday. Although this was down to circumstances beyond my control. I've got it done in the end though, and will catch up..... eventually. So this will be a really short post ;-)

This first outfit is another workwear one. The dress I bought in the new year sale from Dorothy Perkins and I've used some old accessories to jazz it up a bit. What do you think?

The second outfit I wore for a girly night out on Saturday night. It was last minute thing so I recycled this waistcoat style dress from ASOS circa 2008. I teamed it with some old jewellery from Evans and I bought this fab pair of heels from New Look to go with it. To be honest, I'd forgotten I'd even got this dress... its amazing what you find in your wardrobes. ;-)

I love these shoes from New Look, and they were amazingly comfortable too!  I'll try and get the next few outfits up before the fabulous Plus London event, finding the time at the moment is a nightmare... but hey ho its all good :-)

Recycle? New Cycle? Outfit 2 -Thursday

Well here is workwear outfit number two. Very plain, but classic I'd say. This one is more new cycle than recycle. The top  I bought from Primark over the Christmas period. I love this top because its smart without being stuffy, I like the fact its chiffon and so its lightweight and ideal for office workers. I'm not sure whether you can tell from the pictures but its also double hemmed and so its quite floaty, the beaded cuffs are lush too. The trousers were from Evans are are the usual plainish black work trouser. Although I do love the fact that they have a slight bit of elasticated sides, so there is no discomfort from sitting at a desk all day. My shoes were also from the New Year sales, from Dorothy Perkins. Last but not least my fabulous headband is also from Primark. I adore the combination of pearl with feathers (I have a bit of a thing for headbands at the moment). Have a look at see what you think?

Like I said on my previous post I'm going to attempt a post a day (only for a week), showing a different outfit each day.   I'll even do one for Saturday and Sunday, so I show a couple of 'non' workwear items. Let me know what you think of the outfits :-)

Recycle? New Cycle?

As you may or may not know I have just recently (2 weeks ago), started back to work after being on maternity leave for 9 months. Believe me that on its own is a big enough shock to the system without the added hassle of finding clothes to wear for work, bearing in mind my clothes prior this gap were maternity clothes.

Now I would have loved nothing more than to have gone out and bought a whole new wardrobe of work clothes, but being a single mother of two I couldn't really justify it financially. Therefore I decided to compromise, I bought couple of new items and then looked through the boxes and boxes of clothes I have stashed around the house. I was amazed to see just how many items I have which could still be classed as being 'in fashion'. This then inspired me to try and produce a post a day showing a different outfit I have recycled or bought new or mixed and matched. So here's the first one.. please excuse the picture quality as it was 6am this morning and my mum is only tiny so struggled to get a full length photo as I am practically giant like to her. Bless her...

Top - Dorothy Perkins (Includes belt) - Recycled from 2008 (I think)
Trousers - Evans - Bought this year in the new year sales

Like I said, I will try to do one post every day.... but we'll see how it pans out. Are you guys hoarders like me? Do you recycle your own clothes season after season? Maybe you could send me some pictures of your recycled outfits and I could show them in one of my next posts...

H & M Inclusive!

I am so thrilled to hear to the news that H & M have decided to produce a new 'one off' collection which incorporates plus sizes in with 'regular' sizes. The range, which launches exclusively online in March includes figure-flattering party dresses in 50’s styles with large polka dots and rose patterns, as well as skirts, tops, cardigans and lingerie following the same theme, and will be available up to a UK size 24.

This news is like a breathe of fresh air to those of us who still feel a bit of a stigma attached to shopping in the 'plus size' range. H & M already have a their BIB range which caters for sizes 18-28 (uk). However, this new initiative of theirs is another step in the right direction for main stream high street stores. Hopefully if the collection has a good response (which I think is a given), they will continue to provide these sizes for the rest of their styles. I for one will definitely be purchasing a few of these stunning items. Take a look at some of the range below and let me know what you think.

Dating Dramas

Firstly I must apologise for my lack of blogging of late, but things have really been a little hectic. Hopefully things should be getting back on track now. So in trying to get 'back on track' I have been thinking of a worthy subject to write about. Then it dawned on me.

I have been single now for 4 years and I still haven't got the hang of this dating malarkey. So I thought I would share my dating dramas (however embarrassing they may be), and see if any of you Curvalicious beauties feel the same?

I think dating is a fairly new concept in the UK which is hard enough in itself, but I think dating for plus sizes can be even harder. Not necessarily because people don't find us attractive, its unbelievable how many men actually prefer plus size ladies. I think it tends to be more of an insecurity issue.

I don't know about you guys, but I find it extremely difficult to take a compliment. Don't get me wrong, everyone loves a compliment, and lots of them. But no matter how hard I try, I can't just accept one. I always have to return with a sarcastic comment or quip like 'are you sure you don't wear glasses??' or 'that will be the alcohol talking'. Its like dating tourettes..... I just can't help myself.

I always seem to think, that if someone is interested in me, there must be an ulterior motive i.e they are only after a one night stand, they are trying to use me for regular no strings sex. I always tend to think they are lying about their marital status. I must admit that in the past four years, the majority of men I have met have fallen in to one if not all of those categories. So I then start to question myself, 'is it me? Am I doing something wrong which attracts this particular calibre of man? Is it because of my size? Are all men now like this? If so, then it looks like I am going to be single for the rest of my life ;-)

Don't get me wrong I am not deliberately putting myself out there desperate to find a someone. I'm not one of these needy women who feel like they have to be in a relationship to feel complete, although the company would be nice once in a while lol. If I find someone then fair enough, if I don't then fair enough too.  So who knows? I may be single for another 4 months or another 4 yrs.... either way I'll be ok with it.

Are you currently single?? How do you find dating?? Do you have all the same feelings as me?? I'd love to hear all about it, please get in touch, if only to confirm that I am not the only one lol.

Lots of love
