Shapeless Fashion?

Hey there my Curvalicious Beauties. Two posts in less than a week... I must be feeling ill ;)

I happened across a few articles on Melbourne Spring Fashion week today. Firstly I was thrilled to see that Plus-sized models had taken to the catwalk all in different shapes and sizes, different looks and full of confidence.

How refreshing to see such diversity celebrated within the fashion world and I applaud all those involved. But... and this is quite a big 'but'. After looking through various collections offered up to the plus size market, I can't help but see one common theme.... Shapelessness.

Now, I am all for not wearing skimpy, tight fitting clothes with every lump and bump on show, but why just provide a glorified potato sack? Us curvier ladies NEED some sort of definition, some shape, something to show our best features and hide the things we'd rather ignore.

I know myself that I have not bought a new outfit for a while, mainly because I am  getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of choice out there. Don't get me wrong there are a hell of a lot of fabulous ranges out there, just nothing that I feel I could wear. I find that the majority of items have quite high / round necks, which as you busty ladies will know generally make you look a lot bigger than you actually are. The other 'on trend' items are generally shapeless chiffon tunics or dresses, which again are no good for anyone with curves. Unless something has some shape to it I feel like I look about 6 months pregnant. There is either no shape or it has a dropped waist. Instead of pulling you in at at your smallest part, its showing off your largest!

When will these designers learn that we don't all want to hide under a tent? We want to appreciate and make the most of what we're given in life. I don't know about you ladies, but my boobs are about the only decent feature I have.... and who wants to hide their best feature??

Have any of you had the same frustrations with shapeless offerings?

Can any of you advise of fabulously shapely outfits out there?

Take care
lots of love

Time....

Hi there my lovelies

I don't know how many of you have noticed (if any) that I have not blogged for a while. I'm so so sorry. Not only have things been a little busy to say the least, when I do finally catch five minutes I seem to get writers block. Its like there is nothing even remotely interesting going on in my tiny little mind.

It doesn't help that as I'm working for what seems like a million hours a week, I don't seem to be able to keep as up to date as I'd like with the goings on in the fashion world. Note to self: make more of an effort!!

On the plus side I had a fabulous V Festival!! I took sooo many outfits as I had the luxury of poshing it up in my friends campervan. Although due to the copious amounts of vodka and sambucca I didn't really get a chance to do the full fashion parade thing lol.

So for now I will leave you with a few festival pics and I promise to make more of an effort to post more often.

Hope you like
Lots of love

Heather Hazzan - New Evans Model

Please allow me to introduce a new plus-size model Heather Hazzan, who recently joined Evans on their swimwear shoot in Barbados. Heather used to be a mainstream model but like many others, battled to keep down to the desired weight required in main stream modelling - Their loss is our gain I reckon!

Heather is now signed to the prestigious Ford model agency and flies around the world working for fabulous fashion brands like Evans... lucky girl!

Check out this exclusive video interview....

If you love the fabulous gladiator sandals that Heather spoke about you can find them here...

Lots of love

Evans New COLLECTION range

Forgive me my beauties for I have sinned, it has been far too long since I last blogged. Things have been a little bit hectic and I've been rapidly running out of hours in the day, which I'm sure you can appreciate. Good news though.... I am now an official Evans blog partner and as such will be giving you all of their latest up to the minute news, collections and promotions! I will also be writing a guest blog on their website shortly so look out for that.

As I have recently joined the Evans blogger family they have shared some of their new COLLECTION range with me. The COLLECTION range will be available from the start of May, and quite frankly I cannot wait. Looking through some of the images it looks like Evans have really stepped up their game with this range.

Inspired by the latest catwalk trends the COLECTION range also takes direction from this season's colours, key prints and shapes that really work to flatter a curvalicious silhouette. I am told that this is not just a 'one off' collection and they are already planning a new one for the Autumn. If this one is anything to go by then we are in for a real treat. Take a look at some of the COLLECTION range items below.

Pictures above show the collection modelled by the truly stunning Marquita Pring.

The new Collection range includes pleated maxi skirts, simple colour block dresses in a neutral colour palette and the range has a strong contemporary edge that will work with your wardrobe season after season.

I love how these items are practical whilst remaining both young and bang on trend. They are not too clingy without hanging like an old potato sack.  My personal favourites are the long black maxxi dress, it is both elegant and casual all at the same time. It pulls in at your smallest part for the most flattering of looks. I also love the white cut out wedges, the chiffon top, the brown trousers................ come to think of it, I don't think there is one item I've seen of this collection that I dislike.

What do you think of the new COLLECTION range? Will you be rushing out to purchase any of the new range?

Love
