Heather Hazzan - New Evans Model

Please allow me to introduce a new plus-size model Heather Hazzan, who recently joined Evans on their swimwear shoot in Barbados. Heather used to be a mainstream model but like many others, battled to keep down to the desired weight required in main stream modelling - Their loss is our gain I reckon!

Heather is now signed to the prestigious Ford model agency and flies around the world working for fabulous fashion brands like Evans... lucky girl!

Check out this exclusive video interview....

If you love the fabulous gladiator sandals that Heather spoke about you can find them here...

Lots of love

Evans New COLLECTION range

Forgive me my beauties for I have sinned, it has been far too long since I last blogged. Things have been a little bit hectic and I've been rapidly running out of hours in the day, which I'm sure you can appreciate. Good news though.... I am now an official Evans blog partner and as such will be giving you all of their latest up to the minute news, collections and promotions! I will also be writing a guest blog on their website shortly so look out for that.

As I have recently joined the Evans blogger family they have shared some of their new COLLECTION range with me. The COLLECTION range will be available from the start of May, and quite frankly I cannot wait. Looking through some of the images it looks like Evans have really stepped up their game with this range.

Inspired by the latest catwalk trends the COLECTION range also takes direction from this season's colours, key prints and shapes that really work to flatter a curvalicious silhouette. I am told that this is not just a 'one off' collection and they are already planning a new one for the Autumn. If this one is anything to go by then we are in for a real treat. Take a look at some of the COLLECTION range items below.

Pictures above show the collection modelled by the truly stunning Marquita Pring.

The new Collection range includes pleated maxi skirts, simple colour block dresses in a neutral colour palette and the range has a strong contemporary edge that will work with your wardrobe season after season.

I love how these items are practical whilst remaining both young and bang on trend. They are not too clingy without hanging like an old potato sack.  My personal favourites are the long black maxxi dress, it is both elegant and casual all at the same time. It pulls in at your smallest part for the most flattering of looks. I also love the white cut out wedges, the chiffon top, the brown trousers................ come to think of it, I don't think there is one item I've seen of this collection that I dislike.

What do you think of the new COLLECTION range? Will you be rushing out to purchase any of the new range?

Plus London Blogger Meet - Part One

This weekend just gone was the eagerly anticipated Plus London event, where bloggers from all over the UK (and Europe) came together like one big happy family. Although I felt a little nervous to be meeting all of these fabulous women I was soon at ease, like I'd known them my whole life. The event was organised by the simply wonderful Lauren (Pocket Rocket Fashion).  Whom I must say did an absolutely tremendous job, she's a little star. As I didn't really know anyone (although I knew I wouldn't mistake Carla and that fabulous hair!), I travelled down with my friend Polly, who is now a semi converted fashionista....... well I'm trying convert her anyway ;-)

Firstly we met up at the Evans flagship store in Marble Arch for a day of shopping in Oxford street, where I first met the totally delightful Anika, and I knew instantly we were of like minds and went on to have a ball for the rest of the day / evening. I must say all of you ladies are a bad influence on me. As soon as I went downstairs in Evans I spotted a 'must have' dress. Although I promised myself I wouldn't go mad spending lots of pennies, it was simply divine. So I allowed myself to try it on at least...... though when there are numerous other fashionista types telling you how fabulous you look in it (LaurenBeth and Amy), its kind of hard NOT to buy it..... so I did :-)

Here are a few of my favourite pics from the day...

(I will put tags to all all these pictures when I get some more time - I promise)

The night time affair was held at The Strand Gallery, where we were greeted at the door by the lovely Lauren who was wearing a fabulous dress from one of the event sponsors Torrid Fashion, and clutching a goody bag for us with a selection of items from some of the event sponsors CarmakomaSimply Be and Yours Clothing to name but a few (oh how I love goody bags). I wore the fabulous dress I purchased from Evans earlier in the day.

We were also greeted with free champers (which is always a bonus) courtesy of another one of the event sponsors  Plus Size Tall. We got another chance to mingle with other like minded bloggers, as there were even more there at the evening event. In addition to all this we had a chance to peek at some of the new Spring / Summer collections from ASOSYours ClothingCarmakomaAnna Scholz and Torrid Fashion. All of which were amazing. I love the range of maxi dresses from ASOS and the bright, vibrant colours from Anna ScholzTorrid Fashion  also had a pair of the most divine shoes. Here's a few of the pics....

I will be doing posts on each of the sponsors and their collections individually and have some discounts codes to share with you (you lucky people).... so look out for that.

I am truly honoured to have been invited to this Plus London event and to have met such great people, including the totally gorgeous and fabulous Rianne and Queen from Evolve Magazine, who I was dying to meet and they were every bit as wonderful as I'd expected. I hope that we can make Plus London an annual thing.... or even make it closer to me next time lol... Plus Manchester?? Plus Birmingham anyone??

lots of love

Recycle? New Cycle? Outfit 2 -Thursday

Well here is workwear outfit number two. Very plain, but classic I'd say. This one is more new cycle than recycle. The top  I bought from Primark over the Christmas period. I love this top because its smart without being stuffy, I like the fact its chiffon and so its lightweight and ideal for office workers. I'm not sure whether you can tell from the pictures but its also double hemmed and so its quite floaty, the beaded cuffs are lush too. The trousers were from Evans are are the usual plainish black work trouser. Although I do love the fact that they have a slight bit of elasticated sides, so there is no discomfort from sitting at a desk all day. My shoes were also from the New Year sales, from Dorothy Perkins. Last but not least my fabulous headband is also from Primark. I adore the combination of pearl with feathers (I have a bit of a thing for headbands at the moment). Have a look at see what you think?

Like I said on my previous post I'm going to attempt a post a day (only for a week), showing a different outfit each day.   I'll even do one for Saturday and Sunday, so I show a couple of 'non' workwear items. Let me know what you think of the outfits :-)

Recycle? New Cycle?

As you may or may not know I have just recently (2 weeks ago), started back to work after being on maternity leave for 9 months. Believe me that on its own is a big enough shock to the system without the added hassle of finding clothes to wear for work, bearing in mind my clothes prior this gap were maternity clothes.

Now I would have loved nothing more than to have gone out and bought a whole new wardrobe of work clothes, but being a single mother of two I couldn't really justify it financially. Therefore I decided to compromise, I bought couple of new items and then looked through the boxes and boxes of clothes I have stashed around the house. I was amazed to see just how many items I have which could still be classed as being 'in fashion'. This then inspired me to try and produce a post a day showing a different outfit I have recycled or bought new or mixed and matched. So here's the first one.. please excuse the picture quality as it was 6am this morning and my mum is only tiny so struggled to get a full length photo as I am practically giant like to her. Bless her...

Top - Dorothy Perkins (Includes belt) - Recycled from 2008 (I think)
Trousers - Evans - Bought this year in the new year sales

Like I said, I will try to do one post every day.... but we'll see how it pans out. Are you guys hoarders like me? Do you recycle your own clothes season after season? Maybe you could send me some pictures of your recycled outfits and I could show them in one of my next posts...

Snow is falling... all around me....

Well I've woken up this morning and a white blanket adorns my street. It looks like its here for the duration too... the snow is fabulous, if you haven't got to go anywhere.  Spending your time making snowmen, having snowballs fights and making snow angels. If like me you can't even stand in the snow much less walk, your footwear is an essential thought before leaving the house.

Last year I lived in my UGG style boots (it didn't help that I was pregnant at the time too). Although these boots are absolutely useless in the snow, your feet end up soggy and cold and wet. The best option I find is to wear some fab, funky wellies and wellie socks to warm your tootsies.

Wedge Welly have an absolutely lush range of wider fitting wellies for us plus size ladies. They are fashion savvy  and practical all at the same time.... what more could a girl ask for!! They also have a little bit of a wedge to make you feel less frumpy plodding around in the snow!

 Hunter Lace Originals

These lace up Hunter wellies are another brilliantly stylish way of getting wellies for plus size winter fashion. You don't have to try and pull them up your legs and the laces give you a little more room. They are also bang on trend with this seasons military style.

Hunter also do a range of welly socks which, while they are a little pricier than any other socks look stunning teamed with a pair of funky wellies. I found this gorgeous pair on ASOS, they also hold numerous other varietys of these.

I have also found this wonderful site for socks... MySocks.co.uk who have a tremendous range of over the knee socks which also look great with wellies. (I myself can't wear a pair of wellies without them). They are as cheap as chips too... from only £4.95 per pair!

I
As you can see from this very cold and blustery picture of me paddling in the sea last Autumn, I like to wear the over the knee socks, rolled down over the wellies. Its a good way of keeping the warmth in ;-)

Along with these socks and wellies, you'll also need a some other winter warmer accessories.
Dorothy Perkins and Evans both have wonderful range of winter accessories, including hats, scarves and gloves. So what are you waiting for?? Get warmed up!!!!

Xmas time?? Stress time??

Well its official, Christmas is here..... I've seen the coca cola advert on TV!! So its time for fun and frolics, lots of parties / nights out and filling your face with lots and lots of things so very wrong but so very right all at the same time.
Although, with these fabulous reasons to have a smile on your face, getting outfits for all of these parties can be a stressful time, especially for us curvalicious beauties.

We all want to look fabulous, especially at Xmas. If you are anything like me you also have to have a 'Xmas day outfit', I really don't know why, as I only veg out in front of the TV after eating possibly the biggest dinner ever, but I need one all the same. Every year I plan shopping trips with my friends to find these 'oh so special' outfits. Every year I come back with nothing and every year I stress myself out over it.

I need fabulous outfits for those numerous works nights out (mine and other peoples), I need something for those nights where I'm out with my friends, Xmas day........... and don't even get me started on New Year! God forbid I would wear the same outfit for any of these occasions, unless of course I'm in a different town or city than previously worn ;-)

There are lots of fantastic online offers around at this time of year for Plus Size fashion, and some gorgeous clothes too, but just once I would love to be able to go shopping for an outfit and be able to try it on to see what it looks like before I spend my hard earned cash. I can't speak for the major cities in the UK, but here in Stoke we have hardly any high street retailers who cater for the plus sizes. There is the token Evans Clothing shop, New Look have their Inspire range and that is about it really. To be fair I never really go into Evans as I don't feel there is anything in there to suit me and my style. I feel its is all a bit too 'old' for me. As for the Inspire range, unless you like living in jeans and tshirts there's nothing really in there for you. Like I said it could be different in stores in the larger cities, but not everyone lives in the big smoke.

There has been the odd occasion that I have found something in Dorothy Perkins or Primark, but these are not regular occurrences. There needs to be more 'affordable' plus size fashion out on the high street for us ladies who like to shop. In the meantime I'll have to look for my fabulous Xmas outfits online. If you have any suggestions of high street shops selling affordable, fashionable clothing please let me know.

lots of love
